 Facets of Textile Art
From: Friday, 1 July 2005
To: Sunday, 10 July 2005

Dr John Wamsley, 2003 Environmentalist of the Year, will open the latest Facets exhibition of Textile Art. John, a controversial conservationist, has dedicated the past 40 years of his life to saving Australia's wildlife. He was in the public eye when he was jailed for felling pine trees from bushland and wearing a cat skin hat to accept his State Tourism Award. Over his career, he has achieved remarkable outcomes by reintroducing 30 species of mammals back into the wild. Dr Wamsley will travel from his home in the Adelaide Hills to open this exhibition and art lovers can expect a challenging and thought provoking launch.
