Birds

Watagan Retreat is situated above the open Watagan Creek valley, with tall eucalypt (and patches of wet sclerophyll) forest behind the house, which is typical of the Watagan ranges. This provides a varied habitat for a number of Australian birds that can be viewed from the cottage, as well as by exploring the forest behind the house and walking along Watagan Creek Road.

The list below, while not exhaustive, represents the species observed in the area by guests at Watagan Retreat - please feel free to let us know any other birds sighted!
